You need a valid credit card or debit card to book online - we accept Visa, Visa Delta, Visa Electron and Mastercard credit cards and Solo, Switch, JCB and Laser debit cards. Your credit card will be charged for a 10% deposit (downpayment) and a booking fee (US$2.00 unless you are a MyHostelworld or Gold Member) or hold a valid discount card.
Once you have selected your destination, preferred hostel, number of people and number of nights you will be prompted for your credit card details to confirm your booking. You will receive an on-screen confirmation of your reservation which you should print and bring to the hostel.
The balance due when you arrive at the hostel will be clearly displayed on your booking confirmation.
It will always be in the local currency of the hostel.

Booking with a debit card is slightly different than booking with a credit card. You need to contact the property to reconfirm your booking 24 hours before arrival. If you do not arrive by 12pm on your check in date the hostel can cancel your booking.
We do not provide contact information for hostels before you book them. You will receive complete directions and contact information, including email address and telephone number on your booking confirmation.

Our sites bookings are secure and processed through WorldPay. There may be some reasons why your credit card transaction will not go through. Please check the following and try your transaction again:

We would advise that you do. Hostels will display on their microsite any conditions they may have especially for children and if they are child friendly.
Most hostels do not have any age restrictions for guests. Hostels that do restrict guests with a minimum or maximum age limit should have this clearly displayed on their microsites. Normally it is 18-35 years old.
When you book online, through our online credit card processing company, we take a 10% deposit (downpayment) for your reservation plus a US$2.00 booking fee. This amount will not be refunded to you on arrival at the hostel. The balance of 90% of your accommodation cost as shown on your booking confirmation is due on arrival at the hostel. No, the 10% deposit is a downpayment and is non refundable.

It depends on the individual property's policy if you can. The property will have clearly displayed on their microsite what method you can pay with on arrival, either cash and /or credit/debit card.
Please fill in the form where we request you to give us information on your airport of departure, your airport of destination, type of ticket - one way tickets, return tickets, as well as the number of passengers including children - between 2 and 12 years old and babies - under 2 years of age.
You can search by price - the system will always show you the cheapest flight. Once you have chosen the option that suits you better, our system will show you the price of the flight.
